First week of work has finally finished, and I can happily say I survived. This is a good thing. I managed not to get lost driving to and from Lion's Gate, mostly due to my cousin lending me her GPS for the hour long drive. I'm still cranky that I'm going to end up using a lot of fuel on a daily basis, but... so long as the gas prices continue to drop I will try and complain less. But really, driving a 7-seater van to and from work just makes me cringe. Carbon emissions and gas usage, ugh.

On the positive side, I finally figured out my hourly rate, since they sent me my new employee package. Pays decently well and it will allow me the luxury of buying... things.
ON the negative side, I need to be at work at 6:30 next week for training, which means I shall be up and about by 5 am. I am not looking forward to that, and a quick warning if I nod off by 10 pm? That's why.

Yesterday, we shopped. And... mikomichan ended up with a giant Dug. Impressive sale, Disney store, Buy 1 get 1 free applying to ALL stuffed animals of size. We ended up lugging those suckers around for hours.
Didn't really buy much, flip flops and some intensive care moisturizing lotion for my hands after work. And then dinner, where I keep noticing that my appetite continues to shrink.

Guess what I received in the mail?! Hahaha, I had to wrestle with the envelope, and then the note because I didn't wanna ruin the paper and the sticker WAS DEFYING ME. But, but... it's adorable and awesome and thank you for the photos. And AM GLAD MATSUJUN HAS DECENT HAIR.

Anyway, gaisce has been a wonderful and magnificent hostess for driving us around the past couple of days and seeing amazing sights. There are lots of photos, mostly from mikomichan's camera, so those will eventually be postd when we get back up north. Teehee.

Had an awesome time at the museum and just... all the WTFery that was in said museum, had a ridiculously dorky funtimes taking photos in pumpkin carriages in school playgrounds, and the both of us has been combing over gaisce's libarary. I ended up finishing off 17 volumes of Blade of the Immortal and wondering why I haven't read the series before. Very good. Gory, but.

Went to Knotts and that place was pretty awesome. I braved a few roller coasters, though anyone crazy enough to freefall 90 degrees straight down is insane. Jocy rode on that ride twice. GENERALLY had a most awesome fun time and we verified that Jocy did, indeed look very young. And she won a prize for it too! Plus... we got photos of Snoopy! And saw a most spectacular ice capades show featuring the Peanuts gang and music with.. Ricky Martin and the Pussycat Dolls. Yeah. I don't know. It was half an hour of us staring at the stage and laughing with bewildered looks. Snoopy what have they done to you?

Couple of things:

I have been plagued by allergies. I'm being very stubborn and refusing to take pills for it (unless it's really really bad) so I have a really itchy nose and eyes a lot of the time. It's very irritating.

AM hoping Lion's Gate contacts me about more info, but on the plus side, it seems that one of my classmates got hired there as well! Someone I know!! (She started this Monday, which means she's gonna have 3 weeks up on me.) I'm personally glad I will be working in the summer as the pay is very... decent.

Construction crew has reverted from using nail guns to using loud compact miter saws. They are up by 8 sharp. I can't tell if my eyes are tired because of the allergies or the lack of sleep.

There's nothing quite so comforting as waking up at 8 in the morning by the pounding sounds of a NAIL GUN hammering away at a frantic pace.

Other than that, my students today was... a mix of fail and more fail.

The first one apparently took his teacher's advice and slacked off now that he's IN university. ONLY he didn't expect there were pre-req courses and he needed to get 80% for Math. NOW HE IS boned and we spent the hour trying to come up with ways to make sure he gets that average.

The second one greeted me with panic after doing his practice math 10 finals. And it only took how many months for it to sink in that he needs to put the effort into this. I found out that he actually never took any notes while in class, and thus has nothing to study of off.
And then he wanted me to write notes for him.
...

SO I said no, tough LUCK and to photocopy some friend's notes cause there is no way I was going to do that.

SO WE'LL SEE.

Oh right. I got a summer job!

SO. I just had a very surreal wake up call.

mikomichan mentioned this movie that was being pimped to her by a coworker. And, I was really curious and decided to youtube it and see what the trailer was all about.
And then I laughed cause Lorenzo Lamas and Deborah Gibson is in the movie.

I could really use a confirmation phone call about jobs.

Some kind soul went and uploaded the DOGS OVA up on Youtube! So I spent a small chunk of last night watching it, laughing, and then subjecting whoever I can to the animation.

IT COULD have been worse, but it also could have been so much better. And the animation of Badou's fighting scene was so. SO. SO very poorly made. I do admit that I found some of the added touches amusing, such as extra chibi faces. And Mihai's backstory was totally beefed up. The animators were also definitely trying to encourage a lot of shirtlessness in male characters. Hello random shirtless Haine on the phone with Badou.

I am looking forward to see the second OVA series with Naoto and Haine, if only for the facepalming I'm about to do repeatedly when they make Haine look like a DBZ character.


SECONDLY. mikomichan and I have booked our tickets to LA! AM EXCITED.
(And hoping my mother doesn't all of a sudden insist there is swine flu there and like, steal my passport or something.)

THIRDLY. GRADUATING IN THREE DAYS AHHHHHHHH.

I forget the one thing about summer that saddens me greatly.

Leaving your window open will leave your ears assaulted in the early morning by loud construction and NOISY NOISY CROWS who sit on your rooftop trying to figure out how long it would take to drive the person sleeping crazy. (Seriously, the moment I shut the window, they shut up.)

I walked into work today, and wondered why there was a giant container of coffee (for brewing) by the water dispenser.

So I asked.
Boss: it's better than hot chocolate, cause it won't let the students fall asleep!
Me: But that's brewing coffee.
Boss: What?
Me: brewing coffee... you know, you need a coffee maker and filters and everything.
Boss: . . .
Me: You wanted instant, didn't you?
Boss: Yeah.


FAIL, Boss, FAIL.

My students started calling me mom. SOB. When I texted synergic and moebot about it, one of them said:

Had a lovely Mother's Day weekend. Appreciated Hugh jackman's fine ass, had sushi, sukiyaki and enjoyed the sunshine while shopping for mikomichan's costume stuffs. PS: GO DO SITUPS.

It's crunch time here at the school... since we've only got 3 weeks to go and then less than a month until the CSMLS exam. So feeling a little stressed, considering in those three weeks, we still have lined up for us 4 exams, 5 kodachrome sessions, 2 days of practicum, a powerpoint presentation to do, and THEN grad tea. sob.


On a randomly tangent, I was at the lunchroom today, and one of the senior techs started talking to me about being an Angel. I was confused, and only realized that they were talking about my hoodie (which has a fuzzy white hood that zips flat making it look like wings? idk) IT was kind of embarassing for like, half a second.
