Hi welcome, who else is actually still in LJ and haven't migrated to the many other services?

Stuff has been pretty mundane/busy in life so I haven't really had anything major to update with. SO A FEW THINGS.

- Recently went to New York to visit synergic and hitode and they were wonderful hosts. Got to see a lot of touristy things and not so touristy things. Photos are still sitting on my harddrive waiting to be edited. SO maybe another post for that soon!

- Also went to aki-con and saw a terrifying concentration of male touhou crossplayers. And a lot of Homestuck. Fucking Homestuck and their body paint and TOUCHING EVERYTHING THEY shouldn't touch and getting paint on them. :|

- Been working almost a year now at the cytology lab and it's been good! Got a raise a while back!

- Going to the gym SEMI regularly. I have bouts of laziness and then I got sick so I should start going again tomorrow.

- My mom finished her last chemo treatment last friday! Which is great, except she still has to go to get antibody treatments once every three weeks for a year.

- I AM GETTING OLD THIS YEAR.

Other silly news:
- SOB. Head over heels over Tiger and Bunny and have preordered shiny figures. IT'S A GOOD show! Sad it's over.
- I have a plurk and a twitter and I do update on those things fairly regularly. Add me as timepiecery on both.

STILL ALIVE. MAKING A POST TOMORROW about life. YES.

After missing out on Sakuracon 2010, I went back for this year, and this was Jessie's first year at the con... as well as Jeannia's first con experience. It was a convention/shopping weekend and it was exhausting, but in the end, fun.

( A lot of shopping, mindless giggling and KIRABOSHI'S! )

SO went to my mom's appointment with the surgeon. The final results aren't out yet, cause idk wtf is going on with the pathology lab but they haven't released results. But the surgeon did his thing and felt my mom up and took a look at the lumps.

One of them is a benign fibroadenoma, so it's good.
The other though, is far more suspicious and he suspects it's cancer.

The good news is that it's very small (only 1.6 cm) lump, and I bet my mom's really grateful for my dad uh... doing the breast exam on her. Plus she has very small breasts so it was actually detectable. But we made the decision that she's going to have a masectomy to remove it and they'll get that done in the next two-three weeks.

Still stressful times, but it's. It's good that they found it while it was small. :|b

Update on the squirrels, for those of you who don't have Plurk.


Plan to tame and breed tiny squirrel army has stopped. earlier this week, we saw that the black squirrel brought friends! Which was kinda cool.

And then the same night my mom heard noises out in our backyard and when we checked it out... there were three huge raccoons in our backyard, feasting on the jar. My dad shooed them away and dragged the jar inside. And decided... never again. :|b

Just to make things clear, there was a giant piece of 2x4 used as the jar's lid. The racoons just... pushed it off. D8

I will tell you an epic tale. An epic tale of my father, who decided to try to tame a squirrel.

It started with a rice stick, which he placed on the backyard. The squirrel did come, but then so did the birds, and my father wasn't as fond of the birds as... he was of the squirrel.

So then he got a jar. A jar full of old bread, and left it in the backyard.

So now the squirrel comes by almost everyday to eat, and currently, he's feeding on our old fruitcake. :) We've yet to actually approach it when he's eating, but he'll let us stare before he scurries off to the fence.

I assume it's a he.

Yes, my dad needs a new hobby.

SAKURACON PLANS!

People, tell me your plans! I know it's early but I like to plan ahead.

Basically I know most likely will be driving down there and booking a room at Red Lion. CURRENTLY HAVE three roommates, and are seeking one (maybe two) more.


Not sure about cosplay stuffs yet. Definitely re-wearing the FF4 bard outfit. :|b
